WER BIST DU?
I am Adriaan, born in Mexico, travelled the world for inspiration and lived in different cities of Europe. I studied ethnology in university but my call for art brought me to become a full time artist and musician at an early age in Berlin. Some years ago In a trip to Hamburg I found my heart in peace and moved here permanently.
WIE BIST DU ZUM YOGA GEKOMMEN?
5 years ago In a trip to Amsterdam I attended a free yoga class, and that moment changed my life forever, I felt a spark inside of me and such a strong connection between my mind and body that made me curious to keep trying and discovering more about it ! I was addicted to yoga classes and even if I couldn’t make many positions back then, I felt happy in my body and my awareness expanding. I knew then and confirmed later that yoga is not about making the hardest asanas but is about connecting to our higher self and to our own body in this exactly moment. In that realization we can connect to the whole world and everyone else in a better way as it is only a reflection of our own inside.
WARUM MACHST/UNTERRICHTEST DU YOGA?
After years of practice I decided to make my yoga teacher training in India to go deeper into my own practice but to my surprise i learned that I could help others to find their own path of self discovery. Then it was clear to me that I would share what i learned with devotion and passion to inspire others and to be of service to everyone else.
WAS IST DIR IN DEINEN STUNDEN BESONDERS WICHTIG?
When the breathing / mind / body connects is when we feel completely present in this moment, and we can let go of that what we don’t need. I try to create a space where everyone is welcome to practice in their own level and being comfortable and safe in their own body. That are the important aspects of my clases but also trying to do that with a smile and sometimes a laugh to let go of the tension. :)
WO HAST DU DEINE AUSBILDUNG GEMACHT?
I completed my training at Govardhan eco village, a beautiful ecological and self sustainable ashram in India where I specialized in vinyasa yoga, Hatha yoga, mantras and kirtan. I also studied Indian philosophy / Vedas / Sanskrit with some of the most respected swamis, scholars and monks from India like Radhanath Swami and Nimai Lila.
WAS IST DEINE LIEBLINGS-HALTUNG (ASANA)?
Headstand / shirshasana - there is something about being upside down and letting all energy flow down to the earth and release from the feet up to the cosmos that is so rewarding ! To let the legs and torso free of a gravity pull is such an amazing feeling and one of the best asanas in the whole yoga practice.
